Corporate Partnership

What Does It Mean to be a Partner?
Almost since its inception, the Illinois Leadership Center has partnered with forward-thinking corporations interested in helping develop the leaders of tomorrow at Illinois. The Leadership Center understands that Illinois graduates join professions in countless areas, and go on to work with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and many other businesses. Therefore, the Center is interested in collaborating with these organizations in helping to educate and develop young collegiate leaders. We are looking to engage with our partners in several ways beyond financial support. Our partners' employees have served as facilitators at programs, mentors for Illinois students, presenters at workshops, and provide advice on curriculum for the Center's programs.

What Are the Benefits of a Partnership?
The benefits of partnership are numerous and multi-faceted:

  • Engage with motivated, diverse students. Illinois Leadership Center programs draw students from each academic college, across all class years, and representative of the overall campus racial demographic profile. At our programs, prospective engineers and political science majors interact with freshman accountancy and senior community health students. Partnership with the Leadership Center can lead to deep engagement with this broadly diverse group, where each student is voluntarily interested in intentionally developing their leadership skills.

  • Build, or enhance, a campus profile. The Leadership Center has strong collaborations within each academic college and a number of other campus units. Our programs transcend typical campus boundaries, and include faculty and administrators across campus. Our corporate partners often benefit from the relationships they build with these faculty and administrators, where they develop the reputation for attending to the leadership development needs of Illinois students.

  • Influence leadership education. Our staff are always looking for new ideas and concepts. Our corporate partners have the opportunity to provide feedback or suggestions regarding the content of the Center's programs and initiatives.

  • Create a brand for leadership development. The need for developing young leaders is more important now than ever before. A partnership with the Leadership Center not only helps Illinois students recognize this, but helps students connect leadership development with your organization.
