Programs at the Illinois Leadership Center are designed to help students develop the leadership skills necessary for success both as an Illinois student and beyond.
Each program is highly experiential, and is focused on helping students incorporate cutting-edge leadership theory and knowledge into their own style of working with and leading others. Moreover, thanks for generous support from our partners all programs are free to attend for all Illinois students.
There are two types of programs students can choose to attend.
"I-programs" are day-long retreats that cover a wide variety of topics, all focused on a particular aspect of leadership practice. To learn more about each, click on the links to the left/above. These programs are offered throughout the academic year, as well as during breaks. View our calendar to see the upcoming schedule.
The Center's leadership workshops are shorter and occur during weekdays and evenings during the academic year. There are two types of workshops offered:
Style Assessment Workshops. The Leadership Center offers workshops in StrengthsQuest® and the DiSC® personality profile. These sessions are designed to help students learn more about their own unique leadership style and how to better apply their style to a variety of situations.
Alumni Leadership Workshops. Throughout the academic year, the Leadership Center invites successful Illinois alumni back to campus to share key insights into their personal and professional success. These interactive talks are designed not only to share information, but for students to dialogue with each alum as well.
