Cancellation Policy

All students registered for an Illinois Leadership® Center i-program or Leadership Workshop Series will need to read and consent to the following cancellation policy prior to registration. The Leadership Center enforces a cancellation policy as participation represents a monetary investment ranging from $150 - $670 per participant, depending on the program. In addition, the Center wants to ensure that a spot that no longer can be used is made available to the students on our wait lists.

i-Program Cancellation Fee
You must cancel your i-program registration five days prior to the program date if you are no longer able to attend. Students who fail to cancel or attend a program they are registered for will be charged $50 USD to their student account.

Leadership Workshop Series Cancellation Fee
You must cancel your workshop registration before the stated start time of the workshop if you are no longer able to attend. Students who fail to cancel or attend a workshop they are registered for will be charged $20 USD to their student account.

To Cancel your Registration BEFORE the stated deadline:

1. Login to the Illinois Leadership Center website and cancel your registration by following the 'Cancel Registration' link from either the i-program or workshop page OR
2. Call the Leadership Center at 227-333-0604 and share your name, the program date, and reason for cancellation OR
3. Email the Leadership Center at leadership@illinois.edu and share your name, the program date, and reason for cancellation

To Cancel your Registration AFTER the deadline:
Excused Absence: If a registrant has extenuating circumstances (e.g. personal illlness, family emergency, etc) and needs to cancel after the deadline, please contact the Illinois Leadership Center at 333-0604 or leadership@illinois.edu to cancel your registration. We require a documented excuse in order to waive the cancellation fee within 2 weeks after the program date.

Documented excuses may include: a letter from the University of Illinois Emergency Dean (http://www.odos.uiuc.edu/emergency) or a medical professional (http://www.mckinley.uiuc.edu/).

Unexcused Absence: An unexcused absence is defined as either canceling after the deadline without an excused absence (see above) or not attending the program without submitting an approved written excuse. The Illinois Leadership Center will indicate in our registration database that you have an unexcused absence and you will be subject to the following penalties:

• Cancellation Fine Charged to Student Account
• All i-programs - $50 USD
• All Leadership Series Workshops - $20 USD

Effective as of August 2010
