Resources for Coaches

To ensure that Leadership Coaches have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively coach Certificate students, the Leadership Center offers a variety of resources for our volunteers

Informational Workshops

Informational workshops are offered on a variety of topics throughout the semester. All workshops are optional, but new coaches are strongly recommended to attend the Coach Orientation Workshop. If the orienation dates/times do not work with your schedule, you may also set up a one-on-one orientation with the Program Coordinator.

To attend any of the following sessions, please email us at least 24 hours in advance of the session you would like to attend at: leadership@illinois.edu.

• Coach Orientation Workshop (60 min) The Coach Orientation provides an introduction to the Certificate Program, including participant requirements, coach expectations, and strategies for support students' success.
• Personal Development Plan Workshop (60 min) This new workshop is designed to help Coaches work with students as they develop their Personal Development Plans (PDPs), including components of a PDP, deadlines, and related information.
• Portfolio & Completion (60 min) This new workshop is designed to help Coaches support students as they prepare to complete their Final Portfolios and Completion Requirements, including specifics about the completion process, coach and student expectations, and important deadlines.
